Wildcat Dance Camp
Dance is both athletic and artistic. At camp, we will explore dance as storytelling and performance, while focusing on stretching and strengthening techniques for fitness, agility, balance, and control.
Each day, campers will take a ballet technique class. Next, dancers will shift focus to jazz technique including chasses, leaps, pirouettes, and floorwork. Finally, the campers will combine those elements learned during technique into dances to be performed at the end of camp. Each camper will learn a dance taught by the director of the SI Dance Program, a dance taught by SI Dance Faculty and Graduate, and a piece created by the campers themselves with the assistance of SI Student Teacher Assistants. Dancers of all skill levels are welcome!
