The goal of Yoga camp is to demystify yoga and make it accessible for every person curious about the practice.
We will dive into the physical component of yoga, know as Asanas and break down postures through studying alignment and linking breath to movement. During camp, we will study various postures focusing on anatomy and the physical and mental benefits of each pose. In addition to studying these poses, camp will include at least 1 hour of physical movement each day with the hopes students will begin developing their own personal yoga practice. Each day will include a different focus, including topics like the roots of yoga, yoga and special populations, yoga and nutrition, and yoga and the self. The goal of camp is to introduce a new way to appreciate your body and become aware of the link between mind, body and mental health.
