CODING and AI: A PROGRAMMING and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE CAMP
6th - 8th Grade
Are you curious about how computers can learn and make decisions? The Coding and AI Camp is the perfect place to start! This camp introduces students to the exciting world of coding, where you'll create your own interactive programs and games while also exploring fascinating concepts like machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Throughout the week, you’ll discover how coding serves as the foundation of modern technology and gain a clearer understanding of how AI helps computers ""think"" and solve problems. We will introduce the world of machine learning and artificial intelligence to campers, explore the practical applications of game-changing resources like ChatGPT, and provide new skills and knowledge about the incredible potential and dangers of this powerful new technology.
GAME DESIGN in ROBLOX
6th - 8th Grade
In this future-forward camp, your child will get hands-on experience in engineering, computer science, robotics, and video game design using the Roblox software platform. They will also get an introductory understanding of multiple software applications that can be used in the future for school projects, personal artwork, and wherever their passions for art, design, and technology may lead them. This camp will also be structured so that students may take multiple weeks and continue their learning from the introductory level to a more advanced understanding of the various concepts covered in camp that will be differentiated and catered to the needs and passions of your child.
BATTLE BOTS
5th - 8th Grade
Let the battle begin! Calling all combat masters. Learn to design and build your own motorized battle robots. Enter the “battle arena” and compete until only one robot remains! BattleBots teaches campers how to design and build their own motorized battle robots. This camp includes assembling and wiring a beginner battle bot, driving it in the arena, and prototyping new designs. Campers learn the fundamentals of robot construction, including gear systems, motorized mechanisms and programming. Campers will also use mechanical lifts, drills, and ramps to disable or overcome other bots, and compete against each other in tasks such as sumo-wrestling, obstacle courses, and head-to-head combat. Embark on an immersive journey armed with a vast assortment of LEGO Technic pieces. You will craft a formidable battle bot from scratch, blending form and function into a true marvel of engineering. Using principles of simple and complex machines, gearing, and mechanical advantage, students will try to flip, push, pull or smash their opponent's battle robot.
